Ariba, Inc. (formerly FreeMarkets, Inc.) Sr. Manager, Managed Procurement Services
Sunnyvale, CA {Feb 2006 – Oct 2007}
Jan 2001 – Oct 2007
This role was as a Sr. Manager in our outsourcing business. In this capacity, I was responsible for program roll-out,
development and execution of a previously under-developed business. I led a global team responsible for $270M in
indirect materials spending. I not only hired and managed our global team, but I developed relationships with global
customer stakeholders, including those at the SVP and C-level. Key accomplishments included the creation and
documentation of a change management plan used for this client and others, exceeded first year savings targets by 2%,
while managing the transition, and lowered our cost of delivery through improved processes.
Ariba, Inc. (Continued) Manager, Sourcing Consulting
{Pittsburgh, PA, Jan 2002 – Jan 2006}
Responsible for program management, development and execution for two key Fortune 10 clients, generating over
$15M in revenue for Ariba. I created and defined a new high-margin service offering that was eventually rolled out to
dozens of customers, for which I received numerous company awards. For these customers, I managed a sourcing
pipeline of over $700M annually, resulting in over $100M in savings. I developed deep, advisory relationships with
the customer executive team, and led a diverse group of 13 consultants located around the world. I was responsible
for account growth from a single division opportunity to a corporate-wide initiative. I also won the quarterly
Excellence Award for extraordinary Customer Service, an award given based upon client nominations.
Market Maker
{Pittsburgh, PA , Jan 2001 – Jan 2002}
Here, I managed project teams, processes, procedures, resources and activities relating to global sourcing projects for
direct materials in plastics and metals categories. In this role, I managed customer expectations and achieved stated
goals, through inspiring and guiding diverse teams. I used influential leadership skills to gain buy-in from customers
and suppliers skeptical of our newly developed technology approach to sourcing (e-sourcing and auction platforms).
